Walnut Hills Perceptions
Commisioned by ArtWorks Cincinnati, 2024
T“Walnut Hills Perceptions” is a three-dimensional mural celebrating the layered history and vibrant present of the Walnut Hills community. Blending archival imagery with contemporary portraits, the piece invites reflection on the connections between past and present. The bold color palette and freestyle painted elements mirror the energy, improvisation, and resilience of the neighborhood, while layered textures evoke the complexity of its stories. Installed at ArtWorks’ Creative Campus, it stands as both a tribute and a conversation starter about community, memory, and change.
The piece was created from two giant installations that I created as part of my residency, with the ArtWorks V2 gallery, Sawdust: Walnut Hills exhibition, 2024
The piece is spray paint and acrylic on XPS foam and wood.
